The 2023 Hyundai IONIQ 6 was just named as one of the three finalists for the annual World Car of the Year Awards. Following the IONIQ 5 being named world car of the year in 2022, Hyundai has a chance to take home the top spot year over year. The winning finalist that will be named the World Car of the Year will be announced on April 5th.

Not only is IONIQ 6 a finalist for the world car of the year, it also is a top competitor for both World Electric Vehicle of year and World Car Design of the year.

IONIQ 6 has also won numerous prestigious awards during the past few months as it’s been named ‘Saloon of the Year’ at 2023 GQ Car Awards and ‘New Car of the Year’ hosted by Le Guide de l’auto. Plus, it achieved a five-star safety rating and ‘Best in Class’ selection in the ‘Large Family Car’ category from Euro NCAP.

Who Chooses the 2023 World Car of the Year?

Over 100 jurors from 30+ countries across the world team up to test and evaluate new or fully redesigned vehicles which are available for sale on more than one continent each year. After extensive testing each juror scores every vehicle tested, and the best vehicles with the highest scores are nominated as finalists.
