When families throughout our region are facing unimaginable loss, the strength of our community is found in the people who choose to show up.
Immediate help matters. So does the long road ahead.
Spokane Hyundai is standing alongside WHEN and Cleone’s Closet as they help families affected by the regional wildfires with practical resources, compassionate support and recovery assistance.
When everything changes in minutes, community matters.
The recent wildfires have brought devastating loss to families throughout our region. Behind every statistic is a person or family trying to understand what comes next.
Some families are replacing the everyday necessities that disappeared with their homes and belongings. Others are navigating temporary housing, insurance, transportation, medical needs and the emotional weight of rebuilding a life after disaster.
Our hearts are with every person affected — and with the firefighters, first responders, volunteers, medical professionals, shelter workers, nonprofit organizations, businesses and neighbors who continue to step forward.
At Spokane Hyundai, we believe being part of this community means being present when our neighbors need support most. That is why we are proud to support the Women’s Healing & Empowerment Network (WHEN) and Cleone’s Closet Food Pantry & Resource Center as they respond to immediate and ongoing needs.
Everyday necessities can make an immediate difference.
Current needs include items families may require after suddenly losing a home or being displaced:
- Nonperishable food
- Bottled water and beverages
- New or gently used clothing
- Bedding, blankets, towels and linens
- Diapers, wipes and baby supplies
- Children’s toys and books
- Toiletries and personal-care products
- Household goods and kitchen supplies
- Furniture
- Cleaning supplies
- Gift cards and financial contributions
Support goes beyond replacing things.
Recovery can include grief, stress, fear and difficult decisions about shelter, employment, transportation, childcare, medical care and rebuilding. WHEN and Cleone’s Closet help connect people with practical resources and compassionate support during that process.
Recovery will take longer than the emergency.
For some families, the immediate need is food or clothing. For another, it may be transportation to a medical appointment or help obtaining essential supplies. For someone else, it may simply be having a person willing to listen and help them understand what resources are available.
The need will evolve in the days, weeks and months ahead. That is why Spokane Hyundai has created a dedicated community resource page where current donation needs, assistance information and important contacts can be kept together in one place.
