Celebrating Women’s History Month in Spokane and Eastern Washington

Spokane and the broader Eastern Washington region have a rich history of celebrating and uplifting women’s achievements. This Spring, various events and initiatives are taking place to honor Women and Women’s History Month:​

Purple Ribbon Banquet

Hosted by the Women’s Healing and Empowerment Network (WHEN), the Purple Ribbon Banquet is an annual event dedicated to raising awareness and support for individuals affected by domestic violence and related abuses. This year’s theme, “Flying With Broken Wings… Why We Do What We Do!”, underscores the resilience and strength of survivors. The evening will feature door prizes, raffles, free products, live auctions, and a silent auction showcasing luxurious baskets. Admission is free, and while registration has closed due to full capacity, the event promises to be a memorable celebration of courage and community support.

Give Like a Woman

Formerly known as the Annual Luncheon, “Give Like a Woman” is a transformative event organized by the Women Helping Women Fund. This gathering emphasizes innovative solutions, volunteerism, and heartfelt connections to address community needs. With a goal to raise over $300,000 in grants and scholarships, the event will feature keynote speaker Mariana Atencio, a Peabody award-winning journalist, best-selling author, and television host. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with grantees, enjoy appetizers, and participate in meaningful discussions. Spokane Hyundai is honored to sponsor a table for WHEN at this event, reflecting our commitment to supporting organizations that empower women in our community.
