The dust has almost settled on another year, and we’re all ready to kick up our heels and celebrate New Year’s Eve. Whether you want to spend time with family or friends, there’s a party in Spokane, Washington, for you. Here are some of the best New Year’s events in the area to make the end of 2022 and the start of 2023 exceptional.

Community Fireworks at Riverfront Park

This family-friendly fireworks show is free to attend and is one of the most popular ways to celebrate the end of the year. Fireworks launch near the clock tower starting at 9 p.m., lighting up the Spokane sky. Organizers encourage families to arrive early to secure a great spot, enjoy dinner from local food trucks, and see the countdown light show.

Cost: Free admission.

DJ Night on the Ice

Friday is usually the night for DJ Night on the Ice, but Numerica Skate Ribbon is hosting an extra-special event for New Year’s Eve. DJ A1 will play all the party hits as you skate around the illuminated rink. If you’re lucky, you might even win a prize.

Location: Numerica Skate Ribbon, 720 W. Spokane Falls Blvd.
Hours: Starting at 6 p.m.
Cost: Adults $9.95 per hour. Children 3-12 years $6.95 per hour. Skate hire is $6.95 per visit. Free skate and helmet hire for children younger than 3 years.

Spokane Symphony New Year’s Eve Performance

Since 2008, Spokane Symphony has ended the year performing Beethoven’s epic Ninth Symphony. The piece, with its themes of joy, freedom, and coming together, resonates at this time of year. The concert features more than 150 performers, including the full symphony and the Spokane Symphony Chorale.

Hours: Doors open 6:30 p.m. for a 7:30 p.m. start time.
Cost: Tickets range from $35 to $74, depending on seating.

New Year’s Eve Party at Tavolata Spokane

Tavolata Spokane ends the year with a delicious feast and festivities. The lavish menu featuring oysters, wild mushroom arancini, smoked salmon bruschetta, and prime rib pizzette is a delight for foodies. Pair your delicious food with glasses of party punch, specialty New Year’s Eve cocktails, and a sparkling wine toast when the clock strikes midnight. DJ Donuts will spin tracks into the morning, while resident photographer Ari Nordhagen will capture the fun in pictures.

Midnight on the River

Ruby River Hotel’s location on the banks of the Spokane River makes it the ideal spot for your New Year’s Eve party. Enjoy a special dinner menu from Osprey Restaurant before dancing the night away with music from Sammy Eubanks. His set of blues, rock, and country tunes always gets the crowd on its feet. Your ticket also includes a glass of sparkling wine for a midnight toast.

New Year’s Eve at the Historic Davenport

The swanky Historic Davenport Hotel throws one of the best New Year’s Eve parties in Spokane. A strictly adults-only affair, there’ll be a live band and a DJ to get you on the dance floor. Enjoy the hors d’oeuvres, the delicious desserts, a champagne toast, and a ball drop at midnight. Your keepsake toasting glass and snapshots from the photo booth will be great mementos of your special night. If you’re planning to indulge, take advantage of the discounted hotel room available to all attendees.

Swingin’ in the New York New Year

Give 2022 a vintage send-off with Swingin’ in the New York New Year. Hosted by Woodside Swing, you can expect a packed dance floor when the Zonky Jazz Band takes the stage at 7:30 p.m. As it’s a New York-themed event, there’ll be a 9 p.m. toast when the clock strikes midnight in the Big Apple, with another when it’s midnight in Washington. Bring along a sweet or savory treat to share to earn yourself a $5 voucher for one of the next Woodside Swing events.

Hours: 7 p.m. to midnight.
Cost: $20 online or $25 at the door.

Sam Morril Comedy Show

For a night out that’s a little different from the usual dinner and drinks, head to the Spokane Comedy Club. Sam Morril will wrap up his Monster Energy Outbreak Tour with three local New Year’s Eve shows. This New York City-based comedian has appeared on all the major late-night talk shows and even starred in his own Netflix comedy special. Expect plenty of laughs at these adult-only events. Spokane Comedy Club sells premium seating in the first couple of rows and general admission tickets with seats allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

Hours: 4:30 p.m., 7:30 p.m., and 10:30 p.m. shows.
Cost: General admission $25 and premium admission $35 for the early show; general admission $35 and premium admission $50 for the two later shows.
